Forgotten North Gaming GT 4 gave us a strong Old World weekend, with a packed field and a top end that was very competitive. Stephen Toal’s Cathay took the win, followed by Jack Wård’s Cathay in second and Andy Oakham’s Orc & Goblin Tribes in third.
Cathay clearly had a very good event here, but the top of the standings still showed plenty of variety, with Vampire Counts, Warriors of Chaos, Errantry Crusade, Tomb Kings of Khemri, and more all reaching the upper tables.

Meta thoughts
Cathay had a very strong showing at the top, with both first and second place going to the faction. That suggests the army’s combination of magic, artillery, and solid infantry blocks was extremely well positioned for this event.
Beyond that, the event had a good spread of classic Old World archetypes: green tide Orcs, undead attrition, elite Chaos monsters, and fast Bretonnian cavalry. It looks like a healthy event where different styles could all compete if piloted well
